The 26th Civil Engineering Research Reception, themed “The Emerging Era of Climate Extremes,” explored climate extremes, beginning with floods and highlighting the importance of understanding drought—its occurrence, types, and influencing factors. The discussion also included two research papers from our research group. An interactive water-footprint activity helped participants understand their individual water consumption and the concept of virtual water . The session concluded with a simple yet powerful message: “ Every drop of water matters ’.
